“To assist young people in their professional orientation is of main importance to us.” Ulrich Schwarz, Board Member of 21-Arch, proves that these are not empty words. For many years now, 21-Arch have been working closely together with the Steinbeis Foundation. Their program ‘Vorbilder Stärken Kompetenzen’ helps young people to discover their professional preferences and skills in close cooperation with companies. This enables them to evaluate in which branch of business their specific competences can be used.

During this year’s event, 10 ambitious students were taking part in the company’s presentation. Architect Iris List gave them an overview of an architect’s field of profession and explained to them in details one specific project from the planning to the final completion. With patience she answered all upcoming questions. “Do you have to sit in front of the computer a lot?”, “Does an architect earn a lot of money?” “Is it easy to find a job?”, just to mention some of the questions.

There’s no theory without practice –therefore the group visited the administration building of Energie Calw GmbH, a project completed by 21-Arch in 2009. In this modern service center, everyone had the possibility to explore what they had learnt before and ask their remaining questions to the staff.
In order to gain direct access to the world of business, interested students can apply for internships at any time. For 2013, however, most of the vacancies have been allocated already.
